When
Janis Joplin was singing
the blues at Threadgill's in Austin,
the band from Buffalo, N.Y,
called Raven, had not yet evolved.
In 1967, Tom Calandra, Jim Calire, Tony Galla, Gary Mallaber, and John Weitz formed Raven. They migrated to New York City and, thanks to the help of fan, Jimi Hendrix, got a house gig at The Scene.
